“The way people connect with brands has changed,” says Managing Director of Perth Media, Cate Rocchi. “Today’s audiences, especially Millennials and Gen Z, expect authenticity, creativity and meaningful engagement. They discover brands through creators, communities and conversations, not just through advertising or traditional news stories. We are delighted to launch Moka Media to formalise much of our new social media analysis, strategy and content work.”
“AI is also transforming how organisations understand audiences, monitor sentiment and develop communications strategies. AI-powered tech stacks, powered by Perth Media’s strategic partner Brisbane-based Delphi Advisory, now have the ability to monitor vast amounts of incredible social media data to provide market research, that previously cost millions of dollars, in a few seconds.”
As the creative and Gen Z cultural intelligence arm of Perth Media, Moka Media combines the fresh thinking of emerging creative talent with the strategic experience of one of Western Australia’s leading strategic communications and PR consultancies.
“Increasingly, opinions by someone aged more than 40 years old, are off the mark. We recognise this and believe the best ideas often come from the next generation,” says Rocchi. “We also realise that people are the most important part of the puzzle to Perth Media staying relevant. If we don’t invest in diversity of ideas and new talent, we risk becoming irrelevant.” For the past two years, we have been identifying some extraordinary new global creative talent including Tayte Miers (who recently graduated from Murdoch University in Strategic Communications); Alexandra Jones (Perth-based and has completed a design program IED in Madrid in 2026) and former Western Australian Tafe student and artist Hikaru Taiji. Taiji now lives in Paris but recently hosted her first art exhibition in Northbridge. Jones is behind the new artistic design of S.W.I.M. Perth Media’s Choose Your Own Adventure PR product while many will recognise Tayte’s assistance at the Perth Media CEO Tech Events and within competitor analysis and social media reviews for our client Strategic PR/Communications Plans.
Our team of emerging content creators, designers, videographers, writers and digital storytellers work alongside experienced communications professionals to deliver campaigns that are creative, culturally relevant and strategically aligned.
“For corporate clients, this provides direct access to the creatives who understand tomorrow’s audiences because they are part of them,” says Rocchi.
Moka Media isn’t simply a social media agency. We help organisations understand culture. Services include: social media strategy, content creation, short-form video, photography, creative campaigns, community engagement, creator collaboration, brand storytelling, and digital campaign development. Long-term, Perth Media film and photography contractors Jessica Wyld, Luke Riley and Michelle Honiarta will also continue to provide extraordinary work for Perth Media clients.
Introducing Gen Z Audits
Understanding younger audiences requires more than demographics. Our Gen Z Audits help organisations understand how they are perceived by emerging generations through a combination of qualitative insight, creative review and AI-powered analysis and social listening data.
The audit explores: brand relevance; authenticity and perception; visual identity; tone of voice; digital experience; social media performance; emerging trends; audience expectations; competitive positioning; and relevant influencers. The resulting report is practical guidance that helps organisations communicate more effectively with the next generation of customers, employees and stakeholders.
Using AI-Powered Social Listening
Every day, millions of conversations shape how brands are perceived. Using advanced AI-powered social listening, audience intelligence and know-how, Moka Media helps organisations understand: what people are saying; how audiences feel; emerging trends; reputation risks; cultural movements; influencer conversations; content performance; brand sentiment; cultural intelligence; and Gen Z and Gen Alpha insights.
Perth First Youth Advisory Panels
“We are very excited to announce a capacity to form youth advisory panels, so companies can hear first hand what their future customers think about their products and brands,” says Rocchi.
Insights allow organisations to move beyond assumptions and make decisions based on real conversations and behavioural patterns of younger generations.
Creative Incubator
“Moka Media is also an investment in Australia’s future creative industry,” says Rocchi. “Perth Media is owned and operated in Western Australia. We provide graduates and emerging professionals with the opportunity to work on real client projects, develop their skills alongside experienced mentors and build careers in communications, design and digital media. We want to acknowledge the work of Mat Lewis, at Creative Tech Village, Emergence Creative and Bandwidth, who has enabled dozens of young adults to connect with industry and established firms, like Perth Media, to meet extraordinarily talented young adults.
AI Images Not Protected by Copyright
“We recognise that many are on a journey and Moka Media maybe just one of the companies they work with over the course of their career. We will endeavour to promote and recognise creative designs with an ‘artists signature’. This is important because it shows authentic ‘human’ design, thus the client will have peace of mind knowing the images/creative work are original. Currently AI generated images, while many are excellent, are not protected by copyright law. It may look easy to ask AI to generate an image for a campaign but that image could be easily copied and used by a competitor without any legal protection.”
Working with AI Tools to Position Your Company Ahead of Competitors
Together, Perth Media and Moka Media offer a complete communications system, for a modern era. Perth Media delivers strategic communications, public relations, executive reputation and AI Visibility. Moka Media completes that offering with creativity, cultural intelligence, social media and AI audience insights, powered by Delphi Advisory. “Our core business will continue to be Public Relations and Strategic Communications, but content work (which we have always done) will be more aligned to client messaging and AI data,” says Rocchi. Moka Media products and packages will roll out in 2026. Individual creatives will be profiled on Perth Media social media channels.
