Ms Hannah Beazley gave a wonderful speech. She said: “For more than 60,000 years, Western Australian Aboriginal people have managed the country for productivity. In the face of changing climates and variable seasons, they have developed: catalogues of bush foods and medicines; shared language and culture through unique education and storytelling systems; and developed deep understanding of ecological relationships, systems and processes. This has all been embedded in the stories, songs and landscapes. The launch of Dilji Labs is an example of how ancient knowledge and cutting-edge technology can connect to support growth, learning and economic activities for Aboriginal people. It also provides an opportunity for us all to connect and learn from more than 60,000 years of knowledge and wisdom to help us solve some of our biggest challenges facing the world today.

“Mr Muir must be commended for his passion and drive to keep the Ngalia language alive for family and community, and for providing us with an opportunity to learn your language and knowledge. Innovative digital technologies, like the Mamutjitji app, enable us to share language and culture across generations through immersive experiences which is incredibly important.”
