Promoting One-time Police Detective, Now Comedian Jazz Bing

Now on her way to RAW Comedy Grand Final in Melbourne – Feature Event of Melbourne International Comedy Festival – on April 14!

A HILARIOUS set, inspired by working as a Police Detective in suburban Perth, has led to Jazz Bing taking out the WA final, in Perth, of RAW Comedy.

A newcomer to the comedy scene, Jazz specialises in comedic storytelling and won the prize at the WA State Finals out of a strong field of 15. Many of the WA comedians who entered were more established. The event was the first competition she had entered.

“The standard was very high, and I got a huge shock to win the state final,” Jazz said. “It is just amazing to represent WA in the upcoming Melbourne event and I’m nervous but really excited.”

The 2024 RAW Comedy Grand Final – Australia’s largest and most prestigious comedy competition – will be performed on April 14 at the Melbourne Town Hall, a 2000 capacity venue. It is the feature event of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and will be broadcast on SBS. The winner receives a trip to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Past competitors include well-known comics: Hannah Gadsby, Celia Pacquola and Aaron Chen.
